BTSR Summer Camp 2024
Nestled in the heart of West Texas' beautiful Davis Mountains, this 9,000-acre ranch is the most spectacular place you will see in this part of the country! BTSR has been operating since 1947! We offer many opportunities for the newest Scouts to the oldest Scouts and Venturers!
We will depart on Saturday, June 15, probably around 10:00 AM, and return on Sunday, June 22, around 6:00PM. On Saturday night, we will camp one night at Fort Davis State Park, tour the Fort, and maybe go swimming at Balmoral State Park before arriving at BTSR on Sunday at 1:00.
The participant cost for the Camp is $395. The total cost should be around $550 unless you choose to do one of several special programs, including Cavalcade (a week-long horsemanship experience), Scuba (Get certified to dive in Balmoreah State Park), or take certain merit badges that have an extra charge. The camp offers a selection of unique merit badges, such as Geology, that are not often available.

Aquatics, Handicrafts, NATECO, Shooting Sports, Corrals, ScoutSkills, SCUBA, Trail to Eagle
Aquatics- everything pool related! From Swimming to Lifesaving! Even Adult training for water areas
Handicrafts- all the crafts merit badges. Basketry, Leatherwork, Pottery, Wood Carving!
NATECO- nature and ecology. Nature, Weather, Geology and more!
Shooting Sports- If it goes BANG! or TWANG! its here! Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, and Archery!
Corrals—If your scouts like animals, they will be at home here! Corrals are home to our horse herd and the location for horsemanship. Your scouts will also complete the requirements for Animal Science and Vet Medicine.
Scout Skills—Outdoor Skills that every Scout should know: camping, First Aid, E-Prep, and Wilderness Survival!
SCUBA- Learning to dive at Balmorhea State Park
Trail to Eagle- Our First Year Camper program. This program is designed to help your newly troop level scout cross-off requirements for rank advencements
