Summer Camp Informational Meeting
Please come to our Summer Camp at Kia Kima information meeting Monday, June 5th in LC 181/185 at First Pres. from 7-8pm. Matthew Moore will go over what to bring, when to arrive, what to expect and answer any questions.
He also will want to double check any dietary restrictions you or your scout require.
We currently have 13 leaders going on this trip and we just heard from another scout that would like to go. If there are any leaders who are willing to give up their seat, we could bring another scout along.
The current plan is to meet at the church at 5:30am and to leave by 6am on Sunday, June 25th. We are on a tight schedule, so please arrive on time and fed that morning. We will eat lunch on the bus ride.
If you miss the meeting and have any questions, just email, text or call me.
Looking forward to a fun week in the Ozarks,
American Red Cross (ARC) CPR and Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WaRFA) certifications
1. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR class from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 3 at the Red Cross headquarters, 2700 Southwest Freeway. No charge to participants. Open to anyone 12 years old or older. Current ARC CPR certification (i.e., received after July 15, 2015) is a prerequisite to taking the Wilderness and Remote First Aid course–so if a participant is going to the WaRFA course, the participant either needs to take this class, already have a current ARC CPR certification or arrange to take the class (will almost surely be a combined First Aid/CPR class) by July 15, 2017. Please RSVP using Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/troop-11-cpraed-tickets-34851964163
2. ARC Wilderness and Remote First Aid (WaRFA) class from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16 at the Red Cross headquarters, 2700 Southwest Freeway. No charge to participants. Open to anyone 14 (not 12 or 13) years old or older. Please RSVP using Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/troop-11-wilderness-first-aid-tickets-34873036190
Any Philmont crew must have at least one member with current (i.e., within the last two years) WaRFA certification. It’s a good idea to have as many crew members as possible with this training; one never knows the circumstances when it may be needed. And it will be a good idea for the participants in this summer’s Colorado trip to have this training–so this is training that should be considered by anyone planning on going on either the Colorado trip in 2017 or the Philmont trek in 2018.
Please contact me if you have any question.
